THE TR@MS PRIVATE FOUNDATION IS A NON-PROFIT OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED EDUCATIONAL BODY, WHICH PROPOSES A COLLABORATIVE PROJECT, GROUPING TOGETHER SCHOOLS THAT SET OUT TO MAKE INNOVATION AN ELEMENT OF EACH SCHOOL'S IDENTITY
THE TR@MS FOUNDATION PROVIDES SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES WITH ADVISORY SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR INNOVATION
The Tr@ms Foundation is a non-profit officially recognised educational body, which proposes a collaborative project, grouping together schools that set out to make innovation an element of each school's identity.
Levels of excellence have been achieved in the implementation of innovative procedures in classrooms as a result of the joint endeavours of schools.
The Foundation cooperates with educational institutions, universities and companies from the technology sector to achieve a global reach for innovation.
Our educational community currently groups together more than 2,000 teachers and 20,000 students. The schools are located all over Catalonia.
COLLABORATIVE DEPARTMENTS
The collaborative departments were created for the purpose of creating dynamic networks for the teaching staff of the schools partnering the Tr@ms Foundation. They promote exchange, pedagogical renewal and the use of technologies. This work is performed throughout the year by means of two on-site meetings held at the beginning and the end of the school year, when the proposed objectives are set and assessed. Networked follow-up is regularly carried out, using web environments to conduct the proposed exchange activities.
Its chief objective consists of cooperating by means of practical experiences in the scientific field. However, both teacher and student resources and methodological aspects are shared.
The robotics and programming teaching network focuses on technological and methodological innovation in this area of learning. The teachers pool resources, materials, activities and projects.
Its chief aim consists of sharing innovative musical knowledge (resources, experiences and practices) amongst all the teachers in music departments in schools and colleges. Strategies are also pooled to promote innovation in the classrooms.
Its primary aim consists of pooling resources, experiences and material for all early years education English teachers in schools. Processes which seek to include CALL tools in the English language department are performed.
Its chief aim consists of pooling mathematical knowledge (practices, pedagogical resources for teachers and activities for students). This cooperation has a direct impact on the use of technologies in the classroom.
The Tr@ms Foundation organizes the joint participation of students from different schools in innovative projects for different areas and levels.
A few examples:
Innovating is a transformational process that seeks to improve processes and results, anticipating the needs of the future. This is not a unidirectional change; it involves different levels which, in education, include the curricular, methodological, resource-related, organizational and relational tiers.
One level of innovation promoted by the Foundation is the relational tier, which fosters the activation of human teams and professional communities, the networking and the creation of an educational environment conducive to the transformation and improvement of educational processes and results. This level of innovation also entails direct contact with other levels, including the methodological, resource-related and curricular tiers.
For this reason, we pool the experiences and knowledge of teachers and students in order to improve the learning and results processes, while we also encourage research as a key competence for the students’ development. Obvious examples include the inter-centre projects, collaborative departments, robotics display, scientific research, secondary education research studies, training courses, internationalization, etc.
AT THE TR@MS FOUNDATION WE ARE COMMITTED TO OPENING UP OUR DOORS SO AS TO PUBLICIZE THE ACTIVITIES OF OUR SCHOOL NETWORK AND, AT THE SAME TIME, TO ENSURE THAT ALL THE KNOWLEDGE, INITIATIVES, PROJECTS AND EXAMPLES OF INNOVATION CAN REACH EVERYONE.
One of the chief objectives is the creation of an international network of groups of schools and educational entities in order to achieve the implementation of levels of excellence and quality in our daily practice.
We rely on our experience in carrying out this international exchange, generating different activities to enrich us and help us in the educational transformation process.
We believe in the strength of exchanges of experiences and good practices in order to innovate. We wish to extend this practice to this international network.
We create courses for teachers undergoing ongoing training by conducting inspirational courses and workshops with international experts.
THE FOUNDATION OFFERS ADVICE AND SERVICES TO ANY SCHOOLS WHICH REQUIRE THEM. WE ANALYSE THE TECHNOLOGICAL MATURITY OF THE SCHOOL OR COLLEGE AND ASSESS WHICH TRANSFORMATIONS IT CAN UNDERGO.
The Foundation seeks to convey its knowledge of innovation and technology to classrooms and the educational community. We also provide a training catalogue, a basic and highly useful tool for meeting current training needs, as we constantly study new methodologies related to innovation as an element of identity. These are courses taught by in-service teachers who display and share models of good practices. We also design courses ideally suited to the needs of schools and colleges, accompanied by advice for them, management teams and teaching staffs.
The SMART SEAL, created by the Tr@ms Foundation and certified by the Open University of Catalonia and funded by Caixa d’Enginyers, provides comprehensive accreditation of educational innovation and excellence for schools. The purpose of the SMART SEAL is to establish a common framework for deploying high-quality education and innovation in schools and colleges from a global perspective, providing expert support in each of the phases.
